The Multimedia Learning Object tool enhances online course content by providing a way to synchronize a video recording with images and text. For example, the tool can show a video of a recorded lecture along with its transcript and corresponding power point slides (considered images). Students will be able to view the video on the web (no downloading required), watch the lecture slides, and read the video transcript all at the same time. The tool allows for instructor customization, therefore instructors can choose to include any of the three supported media types (video, text, and images). Instructors can upload their video and image files to the tool, can fill in the text box (or copy paste from a rtf document) within the graphical interface, and specify the length of time each image and text box will be visible.
If anyone wants an easy of way of incorporating multiple media into an online course, then The Multimedia Learning Object Tool is worth a look!
